It was for the first few years but when it reached about 120.00 for about 10 minutes work each year, and this didnt include any breakdown cover, I decided it was a rip off and cancelled the mtce contract.I dont have a problem with it other than we are having some building work done and some PIRs need moving. When it was installed I was told the Engineering Code by the installer.
![]() I have tried both the 5 4 digit number, without the 0, and nothing happens. Scantronic 9000 Engineer Code Youll AppreciateDoes one of the keys need pressing after entering the code Youll appreciate I dont want to pay call out fees to isolate and switch the system back on again. If they mess it up and need to call out a specialist technician to fix it, then it will involve crashing the system and reinstating it. The owners code is normally requested by the visiting service technician prior to the engineers code being entered and hence the engineers code cannot over-ride the code given by the owner. If an owner is no longer part of a service contract or a police surveillance contract, and wants to change the battery as part of the DIY process, then why cant the Engineers code be something that is provided to the Owner I suspect it is somebody wanting to create a potential business opportunity for themselves and charge the Owner for the privilige of giving out a simple Engineers code. Scantronic 9000 Engineer Professional Alarm SystemsHope this helps you to understand how professional alarm systems are installed. However, I do think its wrong that I dont know the code for something Ive paid for and own. OK, if users damage their system somehow then that would put work to the manufacturer to repair. Motorists wouldnt be too happy if they had to run back to main dealers everytime they needed to reprogramme their radios. The manual does not mention anything being shown during code entry. The code is entered as one 0,x,x,x,x if correct an E is shown confirming Engineer mode. Why do you need it to go into Engineer mode Very very easy to mess it up if you do that, then you will need an engineer.
